Quick Pass Defensive Suggestion

Year in and year out players always talk about how they get torched by quick passes. Im not saying that this post will solve all of your problems completely but it most definitively will help. Now on to the content
1. Use a defense that is flexible

Like it or not no matter how hard you lab there will be an offense that is new that catches you off guard. You need to be in defenses that allow you to adjust to anything at anytime (you also have to know what changes you need to make to stop said thing, but thats another story for another day)

2. Observe
Okay......I know you were expecting something a little more sexy, but observation is king. You cant make your adjustments if you dont know whats going on around you.

See what formations they like to quick pass from, and obviously who its going to and what routes.

The average player will have 1 quick pass per formation. The really good players will have multiple from multiple formations.

Take Notes!!!!!!

3. Take them away
Make the necessarily adjustments to stop the quick pass. You may have to put DE's in contain, slide OLBs out, Put CBs in flat zones, playmaker a QB Spy. There are a multitude of things that you can do to stop the many quick pass options

This is trial and error here guys. It may take 1 play or a whole drive, hell it may take 2 full drives to get a real beat on what you need to do to stop that quick pass

(the good thing is this info, hopefully, stays with you for the whole madden year so you dont have to repeat the process for the same quick pass)

Once you get what you need to do down you can stop there.....step 4 is for more advanced players only

4. Bait them
Once you know what you need to do to stop the quick pass the fun starts. You can now bait them into throwing it into either cpu coverage or (even better) user coverage.

You can do this by making all of the adjustments to stop the play (as well as cover your ass for any other routes that may be run) and usering the guy making the play on the quick pass.

You want to show daylight and ANTICIPATE THE THROW, than pounce. Guys that could be the most rewarding pick 6 you have for weeks.

Thats it guys those are my Quick Pass Defensive Suggestions, hopefully they helped
